Hix Devonshire Square surrendered to Blackstone
Client
Mark Hix MBE
Brief
To dispose a large City restaurant within the Devonshire Square development.
Process
Mark Hix was an experienced and well regarded Chef who first restaurant opened in 2008 in Farringdon. With four success restaurants Mark Hix had chosen to focus on the collaboration with Damien Hirst at Pharmacy 2. With the restaurant being located in the City of London close to Liverpool Street Station we knew this disposal would need a strategic targeted approach as a prestigious development like Devonshire Square would only be suitable for a certain calibre of restaurant.
We targeted a number of high profile chefs and Michelin starred restaurants to see if they would want to be in this development along with the Cinnamon Kitchen, Pitt Cue, Devonshire Terrace, Enoteca da Luca, Fish Market, Kenza and New Street Grill.
Throughout the marketing process we received interest from several parties that would not be satisfactory to the Landlord. Contact was made with the Landlord and a decision was made to shut the restaurant and surrender the lease back to the Landlord.
Result
The 5,685 Sq Ft restaurant was bought back in by the Landlord in order for them to have full control over the tenant mix in the development.
